Our project, East Did Meet West, is inspired by the captivating 1930s court case Roldan v. Los Angeles County, in which Filipino Salvador Roldan and English Marjorie Rogers fought to get married despite the anti-miscegenation laws at the time. Our short revolves around the couple convincing an attorney to take their case.
